You Have the Power to Stop: Say NO to the Sempra coal-fired plant.

Sempra Engery is a San Diego, California based energy business. Sempra Generation is proposing , through its Granite Fox subsidiary to build a 1450 megawatt coal-fired plant 110 miles north of Reno near Gerlach, Nevada.
The purpose of this proposed coal-fired plant is to generate electricity for Southern California-NOT Nevada.
Nevada will reap the many negative impacts of the plant, and possibilities for developing energy resources will be eliminated.
The Sempra Power Plant will burn 6-7 million tons of coal each year. Even with emission controls over 50,000 pounds of dangerous pollutants will be released daily, including unsafe amounts of dioxins and lethal mercury. It would only take a tiny amount of mercury to severly harm the fishery at the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation.
